I use MacBook Air (end of 2010), CPU 1,86 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, storage 2 GB.
Lately he started really let me down - slow, long open tabs in Google Chrome. Someone suggested that I use Safari. Yes, he was working a little better. But still, I want to know why? Perhaps the case in memory? Is it possible to zoom in on this model?

Solution
Chrome gobbles up RAM like crazy, which leaves you paging out to the hard disk when you run out. That slows things down immensely.

Unfortunately the RAM in a Macbook Air cannot be upgraded.

You will probably face that error only when you have multiple tabs opened with a lot of buffering going on around in other tabs.
This will eat up a lot of RAM and as @dudeman509 said chrome will start moving it into the page file on your harddisk slowing the performance.
Try to use lesser number of tabs at the same time when you have such low amount of memory.
