Hi
I have a laptop that has the amd a10 8700p. Will it be able to handle an upgrade to the amd A10-7890K? I live in a cold climate and the room I use my computer in is about 15 degrees Celsius so I would think it would be unlikely to overheat. It's relatively new. Here's the model: DELL Inspiron 15 5558.
Do you think this is ok to do or will it not work. Please tell me why it would not work if it won't.
Thanks

Sadly they are physically different, if you also look at the specifications against both cores the 8700p only demands 35 watts of power at load which the laptop motherboard is capable of however if you look at the 7890K it's a gutsy 95watts - which if you managed to wedge/solder the 7890k onto the dell's socket this would probably result in either bricking the laptop, random crashing, slowness, burning out the laptop motherboard, killing the CPU or all of the aforementioned.
