Hello,
I've bought the v3-772g around 1.5 years ago, and it used to run really nice until a few days ago.
I woke up one morning to see that GTA V runs at 35-40 fps even on the lowest settings, while a few days ago I was able to get 55-60, mostly high settings. Then I got curious and tried to run some other games in my steam list (CS:GO, Smite, Chivalry, Paladins) just to notice the same ~20-30 fps drop, depending on the game.
I'm basically going with an i7-4702MQ @2.2-3.1 Ghz quad-core; 8Gb DDR3 RAM; a geforce gt 750m 4Gb; 1Tb HDD.
I've checked my CPU temperatures with HWMonitor and they're around 37-40C idle, and they go up to 90C while in full load. GPU sits somewhere around 75C in full load, it doesnt even run in idle.
Things I've done:
-opened up the case to try to clean the dust build-up, only to see that there was no dust blocking the vents or the fan;
-updated GPU drivers;
-reinstalled windows since I've got separate partitions on my hdd;
-checked my power settings, my laptop is set to max performance both in Power Options and in the nvidia control panel;
-checked the overall usage of the parts: Gpu is mostly going 98-99% while the CPU is usually at 70-80%
-tried to find older temp records/screenshots to compare, but I didnt. Yet I do not think they have increased a lot since I used to play with the laptop's keyboard so i'm pretty much used to how the full load temps feel at touch.
The laptop has never shut down by itself so I don't know if it is an overheating issue. I've also got a CoolerMaster NotePal U3 supposed to kill some of the heat. Doesn't really seem to do it though.
So now that I have basically no idea what to do, any help would be greatly appreciated.
