Can you remote desktop into it from another machine? Does it do the same on a monitor?

That's what I suspect it is, but I want the data safe just in case there's a problem.

Or unless the laptop is about to fail leaving the files isolated on a drive whose OS may not allow access to those files?

Yeah, safest bet would be to use an external display and create a backup of your most important files, or your whole hard drive if you can. Then start troubleshooting the problem.

I wonder whats wrong with it. Before applying thermal paste it was all good and fine... but now...

I remember the technician accidentally spilled the thermal paste on the board, but just a little, then he wiped the thermal paste though..

Man.. I dont know what to do anymore..

So you paid someone to do this? Right, do the backup, take it back. Use a cable and an external screen.

Code:

I decided not to take it back, that shitty shop is full of amateur technician who just fuc*ed up my laptop. I will back it up, and probably bring it to the service center.
