Hello,
Just as the title says, I am looking to buy components for an audio set up for when I move out later this year. I want to get new stuff for a new place.

Starting from scratch, I have a headset that I'm happy with, so now I'll just need the recording stuff, including the condenser mic, boom stand, pop filter and anything else that I may have missed out.

So can you, the community, help me find and decide on the best (and perhaps not go too overboard with the price? I don't usually set budgets, but maybe about £400/500 total?), and most recommended audio equipment for me to buy?

Ask me anything that you wish to know,
Many thanks,
~Catalyst

The Blue Spark Digital (http://www.bluemic.com/products/spark-digital/) is an excellent place to start with a condenser microphone. It comes in way under your budget. It has a USB interface, so you don't need to worry about a microphone preamp and audio interface. Make sure you purchase it with the accessory pack, which includes a pop filter and a shock mount.

The Audio-Technica AT2020USBi (http://www.audio-technica.com/cms/wired_mics/50c0cbe703025c75/index.html) is also an inexpensive, but very usable entry level condenser microphone.

When looking for a mic stand, something made by Konig and Meyer is the industry standard and will last you ages. It's best not to skimp out on the stand, because there's nothing worse than a mic stand...
