Currently using a Toshiba P300 laptop, all it's used for is watching videos on YouTube. Problem is, it's laggy and struggling with 720p resolution, which can be very irritating. Using Windows 10 x64, tried with Chrome and Firefox, both end up struggling.

Is there an alternative OS I can install that will allow me to playback YouTube at 720p without the constant stuttering of sound and vision? How about Chromium OS?

I previously had Ubuntu installed and that seemed to manage just fine. Are there any other alternatives?

Thank you in advance for your time. Enjoy your weekend folks :wahoo:

I cannot say if Chromium would make it run faster/less lag, however I can say that a downgrade to a prior Windows would probably do it. Windows 10 is a real resource hog.

It's turned out to be simply.... Google Chrome. The lag was so annoying for a reasonable spec laptop. As soon as I start using Firefox, all my lag issues were gone.

Ah yes. I am a FireFox fan myself. No extra junk to gunk up the system. :)  And the option of adding what you want. Glad you got it all sorted.
