Want to upgrade from ATI Radeon HD 4200 graphics card Compaq Presario CQ61 411WM

I am currently wanting to upgrade my son's Compaq Presario CQ61 411WM laptop to 4gb of RAM from 2gb and I also want to possibly upgrade the current graphics card in it, which is the ATI Radeon HD 4200.

What are my options?

It lags so bad since upgrading to WIn 10, which I am now majorly regretting. I am wanting him to be able to play some basic first person shooter games online on it without lag.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Even with the upgrade to 4GB of ram, you will still have lag playing many games. Windows 10 is a serious ram hog. Also, upgrading the graphics card will cause more lag, if not also overheating as well.

Now if you could downgrade back to 8, you would probably have way less lag, but even then, with many games they are just so graphic intense that lag will be there to some extent.
