My Onida 3D tv's (Model No.LEO32NF3D ) half of the screen has gone dark brown and whatever picture shown there seems to move very slow. I have not been able to figure out whats wrong. Is it the panel or Tcon board that has become faulty. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I have attached a link to the image of the tv of how it looks right now.

Solution

Usually not worth it unless you have a steady access to cheap/free parts.

Ha ! Already did. But you might as well atleast help me know what might have caused it.

Probably the top backlight broke. It could easily explain the lower brightness, and could also explain the "slow" picture if the update is like a slideshow.

So does it mean the panel isn't faulty ? i can see the backlight working properly if i open the case behind. And my T-con is fine too i guess. RIght ?

If both backlights are identical brightness, then it might be the panel itself or the controller. CFL backlights have higher failure rates (well, mostly their inverters) than the panel, but other parts do fail too

So i guess there is no point in trying to fix it right ? I thought i try and replace t-con. May be its a waste.
