I have a Hisense 50H8C. I want to use the speakers from the TV to play music from my phone. I have an RCA to 3.5mm cable, and I connected the 3.5mm jack to my phone's headphone port and the white and red cables to the corresponding AV in, in the TV. When i change the input source to AV, it still shows "No Signal". Is there anything I am doing wrong and what can I do to make this work? Or does this mean there is a problem with the TV's AV inputs?

Solution
The "No Signal" is saying it's not getting VIDEO signal. Apparently, you can't have sound only, the TV is expecting a video signal otherwise it won't switch on audio either.

Now you can FAKE it by sending it a video signal, like from a VCR, but it seems like a kludge.

Yeah, exactly, I am not looking for something like that. Plus I do not have a VCR. Is it at all possible to do it without a VCR?
