Firstly I apologize for my lack of knowledge when it comes to headphones. My old Logitech G230s have gotten very worn over time and really aren't that comfortable anymore. I am looking at replacing my G230s with either the Status audio HD one or the ATH-M20x due to 50-60 USD being my budget for headphones. I mainly game and listen to music so I want something with overall good comfort good sound quality with no overwhelming base and I do prefer closed back headphones. If someone could tell me which of the headphones would be better for gaming and music (mainly metal if that matters) or recommend me another pair of headphones for around the same price that would be great.

I own the ATH-M20x, and I love them. From what I have heard the HD 1 are good, but they are on ear and fold in for portability, whereas the m20x do not and are over the ear(which most find to be more comfortable myself included). I use them for gaming and light content creation. I digress, if you need portability I would spring for the m30x which fold up and come with a pleather carrying case (they also have slightly more bass if that's your thing though it is not overpowering. A friend of mine also has the m40x which IMO are the best bang for your buck in the audio technica MX series.
