My Dell Laptop n5050 beeps 8 times on bootup. It then continues after the internet light comes on at a much lower volume. This never stops. The Computer runs great. A hardware tech played with it for 3 days and gave up. I even reloaded a new copy for win 10. It worked great for 4 months and just started beeping 2 weeks ago. Please help... If you have any ideas. Please help....Also, I am unable to repartion my C: Drive. The easUS master partion software says I have an error on my operating partition. I have run chkdsk /f/r. It finishes in 2 hours. I still can not repartition my drive. Any ideas out there???? Help !!!!!

Well, 8 Beeps on startup means the LCD on system has failed (or is failing). If it were a 6 Beep code, it would mean your GPU.

You might want to try running a LCD Test, as well as a Pre-boot System Assessment.

So now you are probably thinking "How to run these tests?" :)

First, turn off your laptop.

For the LCD Test...

1. Hold down the 'D' key and then turn on your laptop
2. Keep holding down 'D' and you should see color bars on your LCD.

Again, turn off the laptop...

For the Pre-boot System Assessment...

1. Hit the 'F12' key immediately after turning on your system.
2. From the options displayed, choose 'Diagnostics' .

This will tell you if there are any errors that you need to address/fix.

Webworkings,
I have done the"D" thing and all is OK.... As for the Diagnostics, they all pass with no errors... The Beep is driving me crazy... I have been thinking about cutting the front Beep speaker...A hardware Tech played with it for 3 days and couldn't find anything...My Battery is at 50% left.
If you have anymore ideas, please Email me..... I am willing to try anything....
Thanks for the ideas
