Hello,

I have an old laptop which i bought in mid 2010, it is an Asus G51J with Nvidia 3d tech. It has 8GB of ram, Nvidia Geforce GTS 360M with 1gb memory and Intel core i7. I very recently tried to play Dragons Age 3 inquisition on it and it failed miserably, it kept crashing untill i had to go into the config file and change the graphic settings to the bare minimum.

I opened up the back and saw that it had 4 slots for ram and each slot had 2GB of ram, so firstly could i upgrade ram to more than 8GB? would this laptop support it?

Secondly can i upgrad my graphics card so it is able to support more recent games? I would like to make lets play videos soon for youtube and this laptop is the best bet i have at the moment for that.

Here are the specs I found on that device. http://www.cnet.com/products/asus-g51j-3d-ix108v-15-6-core-i7-720qm-8-gb-ram-500-gb-hdd-plus-500-gb-hdd-with-nvidia-3d-vision-kit/specs/

It sounds like (reads like) you would not really be able to make the changes you are looking to. While you might, and I do mean 'might', be able to get them to work at first, in the end, you would probably fry the device.

If you can, you would be better off getting a newer device that allows to the things you want. Doesn't have to be 'new' just newer, and with less limitations.
