Hi Guys,

Need some help, I have a Dell XPS15 Laptop, quite a few years old but I have a 4k TV and I was hoping I could download 4k Movies onto my laptop and then display it to my 4k TV via a 2.0 HDMI.

Will the laptop be able to handle this?
Will the footage on the TV actually be 4k or will it just be 1080p because of the limitations of my laptop?

Many Thanks

HDMI 2.x needs any high speed HDMI cable so you may already have a cable to try it with. Set the HDMI as an extended or 2nd display then see if you can set the video resolution to the native resolution of the TV (4096 or 3840 x 2160. If you can set it then you can try it to see if the laptop video processor can handle it.
