Is exposing scammers legal?

First off - I'm not sure which category this should go in, so I put it here.

Basically, me and a friend were going to set up a virtual machine and expose tech support scammers - we would record the screen and the phone call (probably via Skype). I know there are loads of these videos online, but is it legal (in the UK) to record the phone call? Also, if we were to share the recording online, would that change the situation at all? From what I understand I would need permission from the scammers but getting that is highly unlikely.

I hope someone might be able to help on this issue.

ive honestly got no idea, but i would think if they where actively scamming people it would be against the law and the law would be on your side...

UPDATE: did some quick research and you should report it to the the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau for analysis
