Hi everyone

I have the following and need some help

Samsung smart tv with one connect box
Samsung soundbar and sub
Yamaha audio receiver
Centurylink set top box
Apple TV

So do I need to use the samsung one connect box and run three hdmi cables into it from the set top box, Apple TV, and receiver

Although I would like to also include the samsung soundbar so with the soundbar it has Bluetooth, hdmi input and output, optical input

I read on another forum to install a. Optical cable from tv to one connect box then hdmi cable from one connect box to receiver hdmi arc.

Can I add the samsung soundbar in between the hdmi receiver??

Solution
Connect all your sources to the One connect box with HDMI and it to the TV with the special cable that comes with the box. Use the One Connect optical audio out to the Yamaha and set the it to output in surround sound.
If you are using a Yamaha receiver with it's own set of speakers you can't really integrate the soundbar into the same set up and use them at the same time. Just messes things up. If you want to use the soundbar as an alternate system that would be fine. You can use HDMI ARC for the soundbar or receiver if it and the TV support it and optical for the other, You could also use an optical splitter to connect them both at the same time to the optical out of the One Connect box.
The soundbar doesn't have an analog input so...

The soundbar doesn't have an analog input so there is no simple way for you to use it as the front speakers or sub with the Yamaha receiver.
