Hello all! New to the forum, but a longtime reader. I've been looking into beefing up the reliability of my sites, and am somewhat torn between a few options. Monitis seems to be the best bet for what I need, but Nessus and Trustwave are also considerations.

For those who have gone this route, what were the main factors that influenced your decision?

Thanks!

Solution
Make an itemized list of what is needed and what you mean by "beefing up the reliability of your sites".

Quantify as much as possible.

Expand your list to include other factors such as "budget", "monitoring ", other requirements relevant to you. Again try to keep the list focused on objective measurable requirements but I will concede there is room for subjective things such as "user friendliness".

Then check your list, item by item again the three contenders.

Visit each product's website: read the manuals, look at the FAQs and forums.

You will soon get a sense of which monitoring service is most fitting for you. Even if by elimination.....
