Hi

I am having a little issue here with a sound bar and K9 box. The sound bar is a sharp HT-SB600 which came with the TV as a package. I also have a zoomtak K9 box. The issue is that when I plug the K9 into the sound bar tower it works until I turn it off. When I turn off the K9 box and the TV which also turns off the sound bar, I run into a problem when I go to turn everything back on. It all works except the K9 box will not turn back on. I get power no problem just no signal or picture. I have to unplug the HDMI cable and power cable and then it will work again. The last android box I had hooked up the same way worked perfect every time. when I try the K9 box just on a TV it works perfect every time as well. So I am wondering if there is a setting I can change on the K9 box or a setting I need to change on the sound bar system.

The other odd item is that when I plug the K9 box in with the HDMI cable and no power cable attached to the box it still works, but if I try that on another TV it doesn't. By works I mean you get a picture and the box works as if the power cable is plugged in. I should note that all items are plugged into a monster 2160 joules surge protector.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated so I don't have to unplug the HDMI cable and plug it back in every time I want to watch TV

Thanks

Solution
You could try connecting the K9 to the TV directly. The TV will send the audio to the soundbar if it is connected to the HDMI-ARC input on the TV.
You could also try turning off CEC in the TV and soundbar if you have that option.

Plugging it into the TV and changing a few settings in the TV solved the problem. Thank you very much. No my next project which I will need to do a lot of research and get help with is to get rid of the sound bar all together and start using a set of Bose Companion 5 computer speakers I have. I have the digital to analogue and all the cables I need. I had it working on a TV before but I forgot how to do it. Both the TV and the K9 box have digital audio connections.

Thanks again for the help
