I'm trying to connect an older Samsung HDTV, Model LN26C350D1D, to the tuner on my really old Technics SD-CF999 system so that I can hear the TV through the stereo speakers. I've read through various threads here and have used a red & white RCA cable to try to connect from the TV to AUX section on the tuner. No sound through the speakers. Can anyone help?

Solution

Yes. That is what the manuals I found online show. I think it is a standard 3.5mm to RCA cable. Should be easily available.

For the Tuner, I'm connected to red & white where it says AUX. For the TV, I'm connected to where it says AUDIO L & R. I changed the settings on the TV for external speakers and set the tuner to AUX and nothing through the speakers.

I'm Looking at TV manual now, pg. 9. It shows a picture w/ a cable that looks like a Y that connects to the AUDIO OUT and then the cable splits as it goes to AUDIO IN for the "home theater" which is my tuner amplifier. Is that what you mean? If so, what kind of cable is that in the picture? I'm using a cable w/ red & white on each end.
