Hi all , hopeing someone here knows a thing or too about upgrading my graphics card in my AW 17 2014

it currently has a R9 m290x 4GB graphics card, i7 4700,16GB RAM 240v Charger

i want to upgrade the graphics card to the best GTX card that is better than the AMD card i have

will it just be a matter of swapping cards, and getting 330V charger? or will the 240v charger i have be ok?

Where is the best place to purchase a mobile GTX card, im from the UK

any help much appreciated
Thankyou

You can upgrade it but there is a 99% chance a different gpu won`t work.

The problem is the motherboard. Even if you have a non soldered to motherboard gpu the BIOS will not work with anything else than what was supposed to be in that laptop. I wanted to upgrade my msi gt-70 to a gtx 780m but the problem was that you needed to get another bios, hope that the card was a specific model and just have luck to do this. Also that 780m would've cost me 800$ used. The only way to upgrade a laptop is to buy a new one. The laptop will probably give you a low res bootup image and go to windows but it won't be able to install drivers because the laptop will still think it has the original while another card is in there.
