I've recently bought an Acer Aspire v3-372 and i don't know what it is but if the battery gets around 60% it hibernates and goes to sleep. I'd have to plug it back in the adapter. When i turn it on again it says about 5% battery life. Is it because the laptop is new? I bought it this week and this is the second time it happend.

It's almost brand new so contact the manufacturer to have your laptop sent it for fault-testing and repair (if necessary). It is under warranty so there will be no charge (except maybe for shipping costs, it depends on their warranty terms).
Don't just leave it and do nothing about it, make use of the warranty, don't let them off the hook. That's what product warranties are for.
