I connect my PS3 slim to my TV via HDMI cable but because I prefer the sound to come out of my receiver instead of the TV, hoping that I can get better sound, I then connected the TV to my receiver via RCA cables. But it seems like I'm still getting a rather bad sound. I actually used my PS3 as a CD player as well but I realise that my CD sounds better when I played it through a CD player which is connected to my receiver via coaxial cables. I want the PS3 to replace my CD player. May I know is the sound quality affected because I use a RCA cable to connect to my receiver instead of hdmi. The problem is my TV has no HDMI out and my receiver does not have HDMI in. If the sound quality is really due to my way of connecting the PS3 to the TV via HDMI then TV to receiver via RCA cables, may I know what are other ways I can connect these 3 together for me to get better sound?
Receiver: JVC X-D201
TV: Sony Bravia LED EX41
If you need my CD player model to figure out why it sounds different, the model is Sharp DV-SL 1000W.
