Lost the little plastic insert on the optical drive spindle, that holds a disk while reading or writing. Thought of cutting a piece from a jewel box case that centers a disk when it's stored. Any ideas? Thanks, Mike.

Solution
Being a lazy cuss, I'd just spring 30 bucks for a new drive. I've even got a couple spares just sitting here collecting dust. Too bad we don't live next door to each other. I'd donate one.

EDIT: If you have any small computer repair places in your town, they may even be able to sell you a used drive cheap.
