Hi, I'm having some trouble with my laptop. First of all, my HDD makes a lot of noise, and second, I've run 2 diagnostic tools(one from Seagate and the other from WD) and both ended up with a frozen screen . At the moment I left it running the Hp long sdt while I'm at work to see if it manages to finish it. I'll be buying a new HDD soon, but I would like to be sure if it ia only a problem with HDD. Thanks in advance.

Update:
Well, after changing the hdd, reinstalling the os and all that, i still have problems... one of them is that it auto shut off with no aparent reason, and the other one its laptop's screen freezing with weird colors... i seriously do not what else do or check, anybody has any idea what could i do? thanks!

Update 2:
Well, after pulling and suffering because of the random freeze (some even at startup) and glitches in screen, i did something that i didn't do before. Windows 10 auto installs some drivers, and between them was the display driver... So i unistalled it and didn't have trouble for a lot of time... the problem was that the screen bright, and installed the amd drivers that came with the crimson version from amd... might it be that driver the source of all this problems?

Hi there Tobgir,

Sorry that you are facing some issues with your drive. :(

My suggestion would be to back up the data stored on the drive ASAP, as there may be something wrong with it.
Then you can try using some third party tools: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility

Apart from that, if the SMART data shows that the drive is in a healthy state, then I believe you will need to troubleshoot your other components.
Does you laptop overheat?

Let me know how this goes,

Hi, D_Know_WD! Thanks for answering! I don't know if this is the way of answering in the tread..

Well, about the overheating issue, I don't know. Once I saw the temperature using speccy and it was almost 90°C!! But then I checked and it seems that it doesn't get along well with AMD processors.
I had other software issues. Laptop (Hp 17-f221-nr), came with 16gb, but there was a lot of bsod, so I ended up leaving only one RAM (a Kingston) and took away the other one (a novatech). Besides that, yesterday I had 3 suddenly shut down, but after different times of use (one at 10 minutes, the other after 2 hours, and the third after 4). I'll try to rollback to a backup point before installing amd catalyst, which I installed after taking away the novatech because of bsod. I did a lot of memtest over the Kingston and it seems to be fine. the HDD passed the long sdt from Hp diagnostic tools...

Also, what is the noise that your HDD makes? Is there a chance that this is a noise coming from a spinning fan?
There's a chance that your system is overheating. It may be a good idea to clean the dust out of it.

Sometimes systems do not respond in a good way to different RAM sticks.

well, about noises, i know they come from the hdd because those come from the right side (where the hdd is) and also i checked it when i opened it to change the RAM (it required to full dissasembly it to change those). the sound it makes varies, most are the like "old" reading noise hdd did, and sometimes it makes something like a chirp (not sure if it the word to describe it).
About dust in fan, there's none, it's clean.
and yep, that's the reason why i took the novatech out, i didn't have any bsod since that.
About the instant off, could it be something related to the "amd catalyst" that installed? Because, before that laptop's been running for more than a day, with the memtest, and didn't have any problem...

Hi, i'm writing after a few days...
i did change the hdd with another one i had... about the weird noises, it still continue, which is weird...
I did a WS diagnostic tool and it managed to finish it without freeze... and only had a bsod when it started today (KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED)
