Hello everyone.

Laptop: Asus K55VJ
OS: Windows 7

I am unable to boot my laptop. I must highlight one of the two options to allow windows to boot.

However, laptops keyboard is broken and I have installed different drivers to disable it completely.
I have been using external usb keyboard with no issues up until now.
Accidentely I have enabled Legacy Boot in my bios and now I am unable to boot into bios with external keyboard because it is not supported.
I surfed through this forum and from my understanding the only solution is to reset bios settings to default.

What I have tried so far:
I was unable to locate Cmos jumper on my machine.
I took out a lithium baterry out and kept it out for a few hours then placed it back in. ( I am not entirely sure it was the Cmos battery because I am not tech savvv. It was located on the motherboard)

Sadly it did not reset bios as it still doesn't recognise external usb keyboard.

Another thing I tried is to plug usb keyboard back and forth from 2.0 to usb3.0. It did no good as well.

I didn't try buying usb to ps2 adapter and connecting old external keyboard. Some members on this forum suggessted that.

I was hoping if there is another way to fix my problem or if I am not properly resetting the bios.

Thanks for any input in advance. I am really hoping there still is a solution.

Solution
If you removed the motherboard battery you also need to remove the laptop main battery and not have it plugged in. Remove the motherboard battery, hold in the power button for about 15 seconds, try again. Or just buy a replacement keyboard for $13-18 so you don't have to deal with all this.
