I have a thin orange line running vertical on my Dell screen. It's not new, they have been there before, but now this one line isn't going away. I've tried putting pressure on it and only more show up but those go away. I can really take my computer apart and I dont want to mess it up any more. Is there any way I can get that line to go away without taking anything apart?

If the problem is hardware, part of troubleshooting would be to open the laptop. Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help.
- First is to do a hard reboot, remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then see if that will solve the problem.
- If the same problem will persist, connect an external monitor and observe if the lines will still appear on it or not.
- If the external display will work normally that means it's within the laptop that there's a problem.
- I would suggest opening the laptop and check the ribbon cable that connects the LCD to the motherboard.
- But if that will still not solve the problem, last option would be to replace the LCD itself.
