Greetings. Hope everyone is having an enjoyable Tuesday. I'm in the process of trying to pick out a personal laptop. Aside from one I've been assigned for work and had no choice in picking out I've never owned a laptop.
I did some research and determined I wanted a 15 inch screen giving me good visibility and resolution without an overburdensome weight. I want but don't require a separate numerical keypad. A decent processor as I plan to do the following
1. Office suite, heavy spreadsheet usage and database usage
2. Video editing for go-pros (this is a nice and not need to have)
3. Netflix
4. web browsing
I already have a very very nice desktop I build from scratch that I'm happy with so if need be I can do the video there and just wait till I get home instead of editing on the fly. I'm an auto enthusiast and I usually capture my sessions on the track.
I purchases a Lenovo Edge 2 I7 8gb 1tb hd with separated video. It was about $700 if I remember correctly. I had 45 days to return it and I ended up doing that around the 30th day. I found the trackpad to be practically unusable at time. It would register false contacts, not register valid contacts at times which to me was a deal breaker.
I've debated Apple but I'm having a really hard time with the cost considering what I plan to do with it.
