Our new Vizio soundbar cuts out a LOT with our Sony Bravia TV

Brand new Vizio soundbar cutting out frequently. Hooked up via optical cable to our Sony TV. No option for HDMI IN. Tried 2 optical cables, same result. PCM turned on. Sony soundbar worked with the same cable and same TV port last week. Our old Vizio soundbar started doing this same thing a couple of years ago (hence the Sony soundbar which worked fine until it just quit, LOL). Is it a compatability issue? What can I do? This is driving me crazy!

Doubt that it is a compatibility problem.

Not sure of the expected soundbar "lifetime" (EOL, End-of-Life, etc.). but it is a good bet that the overall quality and durability has gone down.

More defective products are hitting the market place for lack of quality components, poor assembly, little or no QA, minimal packaging, and so forth.

Brand new Vizio soundbar may be defective.

Need to narrow down the possibilities here.

Try the soundbars on some other device(s) and see if the problem follows the soundbar(s).

Or at least exchange the new Vizio soundbar for a replacement if nothing else is possible.
