I connected a 4Tb hard drive to the USB ports of a new Samsung Smart TV, to watch movies. The movies play well, except that the audio is off sync - and can't be adjusted (at the "zero" delay setting, it is already delayed more than it should be and the settings only adjust for additional delay).

Samsung support advise that they only support up to 1Tb hard drives, and when using larger ones, issues such as this will occur. They offer no work-around (other than buying additional, 1Tb hard drives and transferring everything from the large drive to the smaller ones....).

Does anyone have any suggestions as to a workable, inexpensive work-around?

well that is simple, whatever media you want to watch just put it on a cheap USB stick, i understand why people want to have a big drive to connect to these very limited devices but you have to keep in mind the bigger the drive you use the slower it can be. especially since TV's usually have slower USB ports then comuters

Thanks Captain. I agree that moving the media to a smaller disk or USB stick would work, but I was hoping that I could do this without moving files around every time I wanted to view something using the TV.
