Can I upgrade my laptop processor from intel core i3 3110M to intel core i5 3210M??

I have decided to upgrade my laptop processor and the only problem is that I don’t know if my Bios will recognize the new processor. I have already checked things like sockets, voltage, etc all are good…. the only problem is Bios.

My laptop is Sony Vaio SVE14122CXB

I ran a search and i found out that your Sony should have an FCPGA988 installation, therefore the CPU should be installed in a socket. This means that you will be able to do the upgrade to the core i5. Your BIOS should recognize it no problem. I recommend updating it to the latest version.

It just will. The CPUs are the same generation and architecture. Your BIOS version will be able to recognize and use the new CPU.
