I have a Dell Inspiron 17r se that's not posting. At first it would give 4 beeps with fan on high and turn on and off (signaling something wrong with memory). So I took out one of the sticks of RAM and it stopped. However it still would not post and the fan would be on high. I even tried using two completely different RAM sticks and it didn't work. Could this be a motherboard problem, GPU? Have been considering trying a reflow via the oven.....

I've tried reconnecting everything as well.

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- First is to do a hard reboot, remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then try booting it up again.
- If it will still not work, connect an external monitor and see you'll get any display from it or not.
- If there's still no display, that could mean it's the motherboard that is faulty.
- Reflow would be a good idea. :)
