Should I wait for the new macbook pro?

I need a laptop for school and I think the MacBook pro would work very well for my needs. However I need to have something by the time my schooling starts (late September) and I don't know if it would be out by that point, and I don't think I can wait much longer into the school year. I mean nothings even been announced yet. So what do you guys think?

I'm guessing that you aren't doing any gaming or video editing or anything too heavy. The MacBook is a great laptop! But here's my opinion, The MacBook is a little of priced and just gives you a great CPU and that's it. You can find a Core i7 laptop for cheaper and gives you the same performance.

They should be announcing new models soon, perhaps Monday. Check www.macrumors.com for coverage. If I were you, I would at least wait until the announcement so that you can make a more informed decision and possibly even take advantage of dropped prices on older models if you decide the new ones aren't for you.
