When plugging optical lead into socket on back of tv,a tiny grey piece of plastic was loose inside socket, and now optical lead is flopping about in socket does socket need repairing should I be able to push little piece of plastic back into socket effectively.

Solution
That little grey piece is the socket cover for when its not in use, but it flips up out of the way and engages the top of the cable to lock the cable into the socket as well. Without it the cable will never lock in place. If you can get the piece back in then great if not, you will need a new socket.

I have a 60" Vizio, and while I was readying the TV to relocate, the entire optical jack/port pulled right out. It will not go back properly, and I no longer have a red light at the far end of the link. Do you have any advice? Thank you.
