Simple question about distorted audio

Hello there, I have some klipsch in ceiling speakers, and my Receiver, a 4.1 (oldie, at least 20 years). My two rear surround channel speakers sometimes have distorted audio or a buzz when watching a movie or other things such as that. However, my two front speakers do not buzz. When I plug the front two speakers into the rear channels, they buzz, and when I plug the rear speakers into the front channel, they don't buzz.

Anyway, all this comes down to is: Is it my Receiver, or something else?

Note: My receiver is much older than the speakers them selves, or the wiring. The speakers are only a few years old, and have never been abused with extreme volume or anything else. The wiring is only a few months old, and is of a sufficient gauge.

If you need exact models for everything I can dig out that information.

Solution
Hello... After this amount of time in use... sometimes opening up the cover of the receiver will allow a well needed cleaning... you could maybe discover a few BAD ( heated/cracked) solder joints on the back of the boards or Just the Cleaning might fix the problem... B )

At 20+ years old it isn't a big surprise that some components may be out of spec. Caps or even noisy transistors can cause intermittent problems.
I would say it's time to update and upgrade. Even without new speakers a digital surround receiver will sound much better than your old analog surround one.
