Hello. I would like to experience digital surround sound in my stereo headphones. Can both of these products be used for this feature?

If they can then kindly tell me for what features should I choose Essence STX over DX because Essence STX are twice the price of Xonar DX?

Solution
given that they run on battery not just cable and that they have high sensitivity i cannot imagine they are hard to drive. a stx would be wasted on them. a dx should work fine though you could also get the z.

cant say i ever cared for the XB lineup myself. very bloated bass and muddy everything else.
sure.

the stx and dx share the same dac chip but the stx has a much better amplifier. however, using the dx along with an external headphone amplifier is going to be better than just using the stx in some cases but it really depends..

what headphones do you have?
i would rather not make suggestions that are not fitting to the headphones you have.

Thank you for replying.

I have Sony MDR XB950BT headphone. It has both wireless and wired playback support.

This XB model is bass heavy but not muddy in highs and mids, actually crystal clear. Just weak highs.

Thanks. I ordered DX.

opinions vary of course, but i've tried out a pair before and in comparision to what i have now the xb's are really bloated. give a listen to something from sennheiser, audiotechnica or beyerdynamic sometime and you will know what i mean. if you like super heavy bass though there is no option but to go with something like a bass cannon level headphone (which most are bloated and are muddy) so its not like the xb are particularly bad or anything just par for the course when talking about bass cannon type headphones.
