Have had ,my Toshiba laptop since early 2012. In the last year or so (and only intermittently) the laptop, usually after charging just fine for a period of time, will begin having the charge light flashing orange. The laptop will still work fine, but the battery will begin discharging, and will continue to do so until you shut it down. Once shut down, it charges fine again, but unless you re-set the laptop in another location, usually once its charged and you turn it back on, it begins the process all over again.

Have purchased a different (O.E.M.) battery from Toshiba, and it continues to do the same thing. Again, it is only intermittent, and as I type from it now, the light is not flashing. It is more annoying than anything. But any ideas??

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- First, do uninstall/reinstall the battery driver from Device Manager then observe if the same problem will persist.
- Next to try is to do a battery calibration. Please use the link below for the complete guide.
- If all these will not work, do test the AC adapter if it's supplying enough voltage to power the laptop.
- Unplug the battery off the laptop then connect just the AC adapter and see if it will boot up normally.
- Lastly, do try a different AC adapter that has the same voltage and see if it will work normally after charging it.
