I can't find any one who is tech savvy and will help me out here Dell and AT&T can't/won't help, Dells forums are of no help.

I am savvy with lots of PC stuff but not this situation,
I realize it's an older laptop but the questions can still be answered if a person has that knowledge.

Dell e6420 xfr fresh win 7 64 install,
the hardware in question, DW5800 4G (LTE-3G) mobile broadband minicard

It came with Version SIM

I have AT&T data plan, got the AT&T SIM installed and activated and it shows up and connects sometimes and has issues other times but the APN keeps resetting to the Version APN,
So is this a case that the dw5800 will only work with version?
Can it be made to use AT&T without repeated resetting the APN?

If the dw5800 can not be used with AT&T is there another part I can swap it for that will work?

Thanks for any and all help.
Cheers,
Bats

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- Start by uninstalling/reinstalling the DW5800 driver.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the DW5800 driver.
- Once uninstalled, download and install the latest driver.
- Here's the link: http://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER00552397M/6/GXW6T_A00_Setup_ZPE.exe
- Once installed, reboot the laptop first for all the changes to take effect.
- After the reboot try setting it up again. Please use the link below for the complete tutorial.

laptop master, I uninstalled all the dw5800 in device manager and then tried to install the drivers from the link you included first run uninstalled dell wireless and the second run ended saying I do not have a dell compatible system, um, I have a dell e6420 xfr it "should" be dell compatible...so now all my dw5800 have the fun yellow exclamation mark beside them....so I reinstalled what I had there which btw show up as being the latest drivers, so when I check the broadband the APN is right back to the Verizon APN, even though everything else shows ATT....so clue me in, could the dw5800 in this dell e6420 xfr only work with verison? if so, could it be unlocked?
