Laptop display has a small red dot on display...?

Hello, I recently purchased an Asus F555LA-US71 Core i7 Laptop. Today I noticed a small red dot on the display screen. What can it be? Do need to send it in or is there a fix to it? If I don't send it it will it get worst?

I used the mouse pointer to highlight the red dot.

It looks like a stuck pixel. Not all that uncommon but something you should have looked for when you were buying it. If you can still exchange it, do so. If not, contact the manufacturer.

Hi,

It looks like a dead pixel and if it's new I would suggest contacting ASUS for a repair or replace it right away. Before sending it for a repair or replacing it do try these troubleshooting steps that may help as well.
- First is to connect an external monitor and see if the same red dot will appear on it as well.
- Next is to uninstall/reinstall the graphics driver.
- If these troubleshooting steps will not work proceed with taking it back or sending it for a repair.
- You don't want to keep it that way because it may get worst in the long run.

So I followed some instructions from wiki how on how to fix a stuck pixel. It instructed me to use a bold narrow tip and apply gentle pressure directly on the red dot ("stuck pixel") and it appears to have fix it. I no longer see any stuck red dot pixels on the screen. Now I do not know if this might come back later on and or get worse eventually. With that said I guess my question now to you is, should I assume the issue has been solved or should I just send it back?

You'd have to check with Asus to see if the Zero Bright Dot warranty applies to your specific model.

Of course, depending on the policy of the retailer you purchased it from, they may be willing to exchange it anyway.
