I have an hp pavilion dv5 laptop .... i bought a fan base for it cuz it had been gettin to hot but those fan table bases dont really work that well after awhile ... anyway ... now my laptops cap lock button is blinkin four times then a pause and i have a black screen .... please tell me what I need to do to fix that

I can almost guarantee it is the mobo. HP designed their laptops in a way that allows them to overheat and kill the mobo/CPU. Mine did it a while back.
You can try unplugging it taking the battery out and turning it on to drain any charge and then put it back together to see what happens.
