Neither the inside LCD nor the outside touchscreen on my Asus Taichi31 are working.

I was trying to repair the hinges of the laptop, and when I fired up the power, the screens were no longer working. I've tried a power reset to no avail. External monitor works when hooked up, but the original displays aren't detected in Device Manager or the graphics management programs.

One of the LVDS cables seems to be frayed, but the other seems intact. Shouldn't one of the screens be detected even if one of the cables is faulty? Any other ideas to try?

Thanks in advance.

Im not familiar with the unit, but have you tried taking it apart and checking the connections to see if the pins are not bent or the connector is loose. Can you make sure that the connections on the battery are going out to the display? I have a feeling it could be busted but... Its probably something like the wires inside each bundle or the monitors LVDS connection are cracked or something similar.

Ik this is obvious and probably has nothing to do with it but have you Update Intel VGA Driver to Version V10.18.10.3412 or later? Heres a link to it if you want. http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/DriversForWin8.1/VGA/VGA_Intel_Win81_64_VER1018103412.zip

Thanks for the response. The connections look clean for both cables. The driver is up to date, but I'm thinking that's not the issue anyhow since the screens don't come up at all even for BIOS or the ASUS splash screen.
