Laptop + 2nd monitor + tv

I have a laptop connected to a tv by hdmi. I added a second monitor by via cable to laptop so I can do a spit screen. My goal is to run PowerPoint on my laptop with screen mirroring to TV while using 2nd monitor to use other functions like Google or youtube research. Right now only the TV or monitor will work independent not all at the same time. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

That's an issue with most laptops that are made before 2014. They only support 2 displays not 3.

The only way to fix this issue is to get a graphics adapter that has a usb on one end and a DVI or HDMI or Display Port on the other end. The graphics adapter has it's own GPU, allowing you to run 3 displays (1 via graphics adapter and 2 via laptop itself).
