I've had this issue with the youtube audio being very low for a long time and it's starting to drive me to my limits. Basically what happens is, despite having set EVERY single option for volume on 100% (windows volume mixer, headset slider, youtube slider) the audio on chrome and most notably on YouTube is very low. With the mixer open the volume is always below 50%, usually around 10-40%, sometimes going over that if something very loud happens. The only fix I've found is enabling loudness equilization on my headset enhanchments, but then when I try to listen to do anything with loud sounds, like play a video game or listen to music, it just caps my audio to 40%. I don't want to have to enable and disable loudness equilization every time I want to watch some youtube videos. Is there any way I can fix this?

Useful PC Information:
Dell Inspiron 3537
Windows 8.1 64 bit
Headset: Logitech G430 (USB) w/ Logitech Gaming Software 8.58.183
No Realtek Audio Drivers
Onboard Audio Device disabled
Audio Format: 16 Bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality), No Enhancements, Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device and Give exclusive mode application priority both enabled. When Windows detects communication activity: Do nothing selected.

Any help is much appreciated.

The onboard audio card I have is just the standard high definition audio device from microsoft, but I disabled it because it was conflicting with my Logitech G430 headset, which is the only source of audio I use now.

if u do not have a dedicated audio card, then u have to update ur onboard realtek drivers...
its ur only audio component and its not supposed to give u stable performance if the drivers are not updated...

I had updated my realtek drivers from the laptop manufacturer's site, but that made no difference so I just uninstalled and went only with the Logitech drivers. I don't think it has to do with my audio card, the problem only exists on youtube and chrome in general. The same issue exists on Internet Explorer as well, but Windows Media Player, VLC and most applications I use work just fine.

Yes, I've reinstalled chrome a lot of times in the past and recently but absolutely nothing changed.

It used to work fine, but that was way back, maybe a year ago. I have changed my headset from back then but still nothing changed. I never changed my volume settings, always had everything on 100% and adjusted from my headset volume slider. Also I have windows updates disabled, because I have had to format 2-3 times in the past because after a windows update my laptop would never boot.

I've tried everything that has to do with drivers, my old headphones were plugged in the 3.5mm jack so I was using the realtek drivers that I had downloaded, but not from dell's site, and still had this issue.

use driver booster...instead of device manager for driver update...device manager tends to give false positives at times...
also try another headset...
if u have both front end port and back end port on ur cabinet, try swapping the ports...
if all of the above doesnt resolve the issue, then u have to look at reinstalling windows with full updates...

and even if tht doesnt resolve, then u have to look at updating bios and reset motherboard cmos and jumper settings...but thts a lot later...

yeah I know, that's why I use a much older version from 2014. Also BIOS is updated, changing headset is not an option as I bought this for 80 euros and have them only for 6 months, which is not worth it. Also I did a clean install of Windows last week due to my faulty HDD and that didn't work either. I think I'll just accept the fact that chrome is faulty and doesn't want to play any louder than that.

As I mentioned in a message above, I've confirmed this happened on Internet Explorer as well. I don't have any other browsers installed right now to test on. I've searched everywhere and did everything, someone suggested disabling the pepperflash player plugin in chrome but it didn't work, others said to try with the 3.5mm jack but same thing happened. There might not be a fix for this, I'm afraid.

I've tried almost everything but it doesn't seem to make any difference. I don't like giving up either, but I am tired of trying to fix this issue to no avail. I'll just have to live with it.
thank you for all your help.
cheers.
