Hi ,

I have a Inspiron 17R 5737 Laptop with two video cards (Intel HD graphics family and AMD Radeon HD 8870M ). After the update of windows 8.1 to 10, i see the AMD card in device manager enable but all my programs use the Intel card. I tried to update the drivers but after 2 months i can't use my AMD card. Until now, the Dell site didn't give any new driver for AMD Radeon HD 8870M (in order to be usable again after windows 10 update). How i can make my AMD Radeon HD 8870M usable again? I downloaded AMD's drivers too but still nothing.

Any thoughts for this problem?

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help in solving the issue.
- Start by doing a clean install of the graphics card driver.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the AMD graphics card driver.
- Next is to open Programs and Features then uninstall anything related to AMD.
- Once done, download and install the latest driver.
- Here's the link: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download
- Reboot the laptop once the latest driver has been installed.
- After the reboot, do test it again and see if the same problem will persist or not.

Hello Laptop_Nerd

I have cleaned the laptop from all gpu drivers and done clean installations but the 8870 never worked.
I already tried all drivers from AMD's support link but again it didn't work.
I also installed the Dell 8870M drivers for windows 10 and the device manager sees 2 gpus the intel and the amd but the one in use is the intel and the AMD catalyst center wont run because there are no setting that can be configured with it, it says.

So the 8870M is useless on Windows 10 and Dell doesn't care!
