Dell e6320 plugged in charging. But not charge battery. Five cycles charge in windows then stops. 3 acpi drivers.

Hi,

Have you tried doing a test with the AC adapter and battery itself?
- Remove the battery off the laptop then connect it directly to it's AC adapter and see if it will boot up or not.
- If the laptop will boot up with just the AC adapter connect that means it's still working properly and it's the battery that is faulty.
- But if the laptop will not boot up without the battery and just connected to the AC adapter then the problem may lie in the AC adapter.
- Do test a different AC adapter that has the same voltage and see if it will work or not.
- If it will still not work, the problem lies inside the motherboard.

I don't have a battery I can plug into direct... I however have new battery. But in windows it reports plugged in and charging. I'm getting new charger... so I think it's windows.. and maybe motherboard. It's under 60 day warranty so second hand. If it's motherboard ill ask them to replace it.

I just found out some adapters have smart pins... so there is 19.6v and 6-10v supply for centre pin. Outershell and inner shell to cente pin is 19.6v. My adapter dont have no volts on centre pin. Hopefullynew adaptor will work.
