How to Abort Install of Windows 10?

Hello,

I just made an account for this sole purpose.
I was playing with some friends on my desktop PC next to my laptop.
I left my laptop running next to me while playing, and it just went into standby after a while, then windows 10 started installing by itself for a bit without me noticing, so i just shut the laptop off, i already tried win10 on my desktop where i reinstalled win7, so i don't want it.

I mean i only got this problem today, i've just closed down win10 when it asked because i reserved it, i just thought it would go away sometime.

Now when i start my laptop it just automatically boots into the win10 install screen, so how do i stop this and go back to windows 7?

I can get into the BIOS just fine if that helps.

I think you were lucky it didn't wreck both the systems when you turned it off. It's best to complete the installation, test it to see if you still don't like it and want to stick with W7, there will be an icon in Control Panel to take the system back to that OS.

The thing is, i know i'm not gonna like it, i already tried it before, and especially not if it's gonna force-install on my laptop.
Can i maybe change the boot settings in the BIOS to make it boot from windows 7 instead?

Once you've reverted to Windows 7, you can run the system's Clean Manager to get rid of the spare files, including those that came with Windows 10. Your do that by running Command Prompt as Administrator then using the syntax CleanMgr.

I'm no lover of Windows 10 but properly set up with all the protection from MS harvesting data for sale and setting your own choice of default programmes, it is surprisingly efficient. I've upgraded to it in over a hundred times for customers and no-one has come back to me to take it back to the older vesion.

I recommend grabbing it while it's free because I foresee a rental charge from MS, probably every year, after a while in the same way they've gone with Office 365..

You mean when i've installed windows 10 and reverted back to windows 7?

Last time i had to do that it broke several things, and when i finally got back i ended up with a copy of windows 7 that says it was pirated because the microsoft site is broken.
I asked them about it aswell, but it doesn't seem like their site has a form of administration, nobody responded apart from one guy that completely misunderstood my question.
That's why i don't want to do it.

And a rental charge doesn't matter, i'm not gonna get it later lol, i don't even have office either.

So does anyone know of a way to abort the installation when i start up my PC, so i don't have to install windows 10 and revert back to windows 7?

You could start up in Safe Mode by tapping Function 8 as you power up the machine, then log in as Administrator. That should delay the start of the upgrade for long enough for you to turn off Automatic Updates and edit any GWX entry you can find in the Registry. With Hidden and Protected folders and files set to show, check in c:\ for a folder named $BT~Windows and delete it.
