Significantly better than what you're looking at for not much more price.

Socket is how the CPU fits into the motherboard, the h81 is an Intel board, not AMD, and does not support AM3+ as the fx6300 needs.

i5 is not a dual core, it is a true quad core without hyperthreading. It has 4 cores/4 threads. i3 is the dual core with hyperthreading, 2 cores/4 threads and actually performs very well for entry level budget gaming builds. You will likely need to limit how you play it, it's not always going to be omg 60 fps, but you will be able to play a lot of games very well on this CPU.

As for the power--the build actually doesn't require all that much, so I knocked the PSU down a bit. It is not a good quality PSU as you are on a budget, but it will get the job done, with roughly 100W left over.

As much as I love my FX 6100, the FX 6300 is EOL, the only upgrade left for you is the FX 8350. After that, you're screwed. With an 1151 socket, you have the options of Skylake i3/i5/i7 and Kaby lake i3/i5/i7 when they release, as they will be on the same socket. The 6300 is by no means the best processor, as it also gets outdone by newer gen i3s, or at least the i3s can stand with them. Forget which one it is, but the 6300 is now essentially pointless to get.

Are you going to use an install disk, or do you have a current version of windows that you can make a windows 10 bootable ISO from? Cause if you can use a USB stick to do it, it'll be easier. But either using a CD or USB will work just fine.

It will perform better, or on par with the 6300. But, as said above, the 6300 is EOL. There's nowhere to go with that CPU. You want to upgrade? Great, upgrade your: CPU, Motherboard, RAM please. Whereas: Get an i3 or a skylake pentium and upgrade? Upgrade your: CPU.

If you want that PSU go for it, neither are of very good quality, so it probably won't make much difference.

The basis to building a pc 90% of the time is the same, so you'll be fine. As long as you follow along with the instructions and don't build it on a carpet, you'll be alright. And yes, the extra 2gb for all of 20 is definitely worth it. I'm maxing my GPU after the 2gb VRam spot in some games, so getting the extra 2 would be good just in case.

That is gonna be an issue with your monitor, not with the motherboard or GFX card. You'll have the monitor hooked up to your graphics card, but neither a 750TI nor an r7 370 has a VGA port on it. So, I would recommend buying an LED/LCD refurbished monitor for $50-75.

Your monitor plugs are for your iGPU off of your i3. Intel HD graphics are far below the 750 ti, do not hook up your monitor to that. How did you manage to get a brand new monitor that only has VGA on it? I mean, kudos to you, but are you sure there's no DVI or HDMI port on it?
