Yesterday I inserted a 2gb ram with lower mhz than the current 4gb I'm using.

The laptop state that it did not support the new RAM but it still worked normally. I could still web surf, play games. However I noticed some weird brightness changes during the game.

And today the AC adapter just went poof. Laptop couldn't power on without battery.

I just bought that battery too.

Idk whether the ram or batter caused this problem... could someone help me calrify this? Thanks :D

Hi,

Here are some test that may help. :)
- First is to test the AC adapter and battery.
- Remove the battery off the laptop then power it on with just the AC adapter connected.
- If the laptop will not boot up with just the AC adapter connected that means the AC adapter can be faulty.
- Do try a different AC adapter that has the same voltage and if it will still not boot up remove the added RAM.
- If the laptop will still not boot up with just the AC adapter connected and without the added RAM added that could mean there's a problem within the motherboard.
- Try booting the laptop with just the battery and without the added RAM as well just to test if it's just the AC adapter that is faulty.
