I removed the Trojan virus with AVG; photos still on camera, but I can't retrieve them ---shows only MEMStick.IND..DCIM et al are missing. I just got back from Panama with wonderful photos and don't want to lose them...I tried uploading them to my USB flash drive with someone's laptop while away and his PC said it couldn't do it (in Spanish) as I had a virus. It was a Trojan which I probably got from a computer earlier in the week. I took out the Memory Card replaced it was another blank one--- took a photo and the I was able to see the photo; the DCIM, the 101 folder and everything that I'm missing right now.

Does anyone know who I can somehow get those photos onto my PC? I tried the cmd recommendations, but it shows nothing on the file. How can it be gone and I can still see the photos on the camera? blows my mind!

Thanks for the tip; Installed Recuva per link and it found 10 photos and ignored 202 others on the camera. I deleted those 10 photos on the camera hoping to get 10 more or all of them; instead it gave me the original 10 plus the deleted 10...am trying to find out how to delete these "findings" from Recuva and get the rest of those vacation photos. Not resolved unless I can get Recuva to get the others photos...but it seems to be a good program

i deleted it from the camera so that's probably why it recovered them...the recuva scan shows a whole lot of files that are "excellent" but not the other photos...

just tried another program: Glary Undelete...it found 146 files...but only 10 jpeg files...the rest were the applications that were originially on the camera but that virus probably deleted them as they have 0 bytes. the 10 jpg files are the ones recova found.

frustrating: the photos are clear on the camera but so far no way to retrieve them.

With your input and some deep thinking, we've solved the problem. Since recuva likes to recover deleted files, I just deleted all the photos from the camera and applied recuva again. I now have all the photos up on Picasa for me to caption and share. Muchas Gracias, mi amigo (a)!!!!--probably will have to format the memory stick ...no problema.
