What is the best free VPN in 2016?

Please justify your answer if possible by discussing the secureness of the VPN, speed and trustworthyness of the creator.

I have heard that HotSpotShield is popular. However I have also gathered that it has several problems including:

- The settings are hard to access as they do not always load. The setting page will say "Loading..." but never actually loads
- It sets a daily bandwidth limit which is easily exceeded. After which point you received a screen which says you must upgrade to Premium otherwise you cannot use the internet anymore that day
- It slows down your web browsing significantly.

Many Thanks

I use CyberGhost VPN when I need to use one (typically to get around geoblocking for BBC or YouTube).

- I'm not entirely sure how secure it is but it is a reputable company so I would assume it is alright.
- I find the speed good but because it is the free version, you cannot pick any server you like. They may have changed it but you could pick among the free servers when I was last using it. When I say the speed is good, it is in comparison to my 8Mb/s connection. When connecting to a US server, I found the Washington servers were pretty speedy.

Hopefully this one is alright :)

still, the multiple exit nodes hosted by ppl worldwide are difficult to tracert...and it does give u some amnt of anonymity...as opposed to traditional browsers...and when u use it with vpn in tandem, it gives u that extra layer of anonymity...
the security vulnerabilities are inherent to firefox as it is basically a modification of firefox...its explained elaborately in one of the defcon episodes...cant remember which one though...

Im just finishing up my second year of PIA and will be renewing for a third. 39.95/yr with unlimited bandwidth which I think is a very reasonable price for the quality you are getting.
