It's this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-External-3D-Blu-ray-Writer/dp/B01468IUFS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1462097754&sr=8-2&keywords=samsung+dvd+blu+ray+writer

When I bought it, I plugged it into my laptop and it worked fine. VLC instantly loaded and it just started playing the disk. It worked with both DVD and Blu Ray. A while later however, I try to watch a Blu Ray that I recorded and dubbed myself, and VLC said it was "unable to open the mrl".

Since then, I've replayed the Blu Ray and DVD disk that I tested originally. The DVD worked, the Blu Ray had the error. I have tried:

Restarting

Trying it on two different computers

Installing the AACs codac: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHdZWMb3qZk&feature=cards&annotation_id=44dabd1e-aabe-4873-9b89-ccbb049653a5&src_vid=tZAbZQDOOio

Disabling my Kaspersky and Windows Defender firewall.

Using multiple disks, none of which worked.

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- First is to uninstall/reinstall VLC software.
- Open Programs and Features then uninstall the VLC software.
- Once completely removed, download and install the latest software.
- Reboot the laptop once VLC has been installed then test it again.
- If the same problem will persist, try using Media Player classic instead.

I tried both, didn't work. Thanks for replying though. I also tried ripping the disk with MakeMKV and it couldn't gain access.
