Hello people at Toms!
I am having an issue with my acer aspire e5-551G. I recently removed ubuntu 14.04 LTS (trusty tahr) and replaced it with windows 8.1 which came ready on the device.
Since then i have been having trouble with it, in specific, with my graphics card.
It is detected in device manager however it is coming back saying that it has been disconnected due to an error (43). Now ive tried a few things to fix it so far; I tried rolling back the driver update, which actually reported the device yo be working, however i could not access the 2gb of gddr3 memory. I then tried installing 2 different sets of drivers sequentially, the crimson beta, and the most recent crimson stable, im currently out of a readily internet accesible area so I cant test out the hotfix version until tomorrow, i was wondering if anyone here had any experience with a similar problem and could give me any help fixing this problem as I only just got it back from warranty and do not want to send it off again.

Solution
Hi,

Please do try doing a clean install of the graphics card driver.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the AMD graphics driver.
- Next is to open Programs and Features then uninstall anything related to AMD.
- Once done, download and install the latest driver.
- Here's the link: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download
- Reboot the laptop once the latest driver has been installed.
- Do test it again after the reboot and see if the same problem will persist or not.
